Mozilla Firefox 92

Mozilla heeft versie 92 van zijn Firefox-webbrowser uitgebracht met daarin een aantal kleine verbeteringen. Zo kan Firefox nu de verbinding upgraden naar HTTPS als in de Alt-Svc header HTTPS RR wordt meegestuurd, is de bladwijzerwerkbalk nu in Proton-stijl op macOS en is de errorpagina bij een certificaatfout opnieuw ontworpen. Verder bouwt Canonical nu een Snap-versie van de Firefox-browser en bevat deze versie een aantal securityfixes.

Downloaden

Om te updaten naar Mozilla Firefox 92, klik je in Windows op de drie strepen rechts naast de adresbalk en ga je naar Help en dan Over Firefox. Op Mac klik je in de menubalk op Firefox en dan Over Firefox. Wacht even totdat de update is binnengehaald en klik dan op Herstarten om Firefox bij te werken. Je kunt de update ook handmatig downloaden en installeren.

  • More secure connections: Firefox can now automatically upgrade to HTTPS using HTTPS RR as Alt-Svc headers.
  • Full-range color levels are now supported for video playback on many systems.

  • Firefox performance with screen readers and other accessibility tools is no longer severely degraded if Mozilla Thunderbird is installed or updated after Firefox.

  • An open alert in a tab no longer causes performance issues in other tabs using the same process.

  • Canonical is now building the official Firefox snap. It's also now available on two additional architectures, ARMhf and ARM64.
  • The bookmark toolbar menus on macOS now follow Firefox visual styles.
  • Certificate error pages have been redesigned for a better user experience.
  • Continuing work to restructure Firefox’s JavaScript memory management to be more performant and use less memory.
