Epic Games has released its game store for iPhone in collaboration with AltStore. In this how-to guide, we will show you how to play Fortnite and Fall Guys on iPhone again by installing this app store and adding Epic’s games to it.
Before You Begin
The following steps will only work if your App Store and iPhone region is set to a country in the European Union. Additionally, you need to be running iOS 17.5 or newer. To check which version you are running, open the Settings app and go to General / Software Update. If you don’t have enough storage space available to update to the latest version, connect your iPhone to a Mac or PC and perform the update via Finder or Apple Devices for Windows.
In this how-to guide, we will be showing you how to set-up the AltStore PAL with Epic Games. Epic Games publishes its apps both in its own app store and in the AltStore PAL. The advantage of the AltStore PAL is that you can also install other apps outside of Apple’s App Store. If you prefer to use Epic Games’ own app store, follow these steps and download the Epic Games store.
Steps for AltStore PAL with Epic Games
On your iPhone, go to the AltStore PAL website. Tap the green Download button. Tap OK. Then, open the Settings app and tap the notification Allow apps from AltStore, LLC. Tap Allow. Verify with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Next, go back to Safari to the AltStore page you just now visited. Tap Download again and tap Install App Store. The app store will now be downloaded.
Open Alt Store on your iPhone by tapping the icon in newly added apps. At the bottom, go to Sources and then tap the plus button at the top left. From the list, tap the plus next to Epic Games, Inc. and tap Add Source. You will now see the games from Epic. At the bottom, go to Browse and you will see the apps Fortnite, Fall Guys, and more. Tap on a game to see more information, or tap Free / Install App to install a game. The game will be installed as a normal app, which you can start directly from your home screen.
