1Password is a password manager for Windows, Mac, and Linux that works very smoothly and offers many features. For example, 1Password can automatically type passwords in apps, you can organize your saved accounts into vaults, share vaults with others, and store many other items in your vault such as notes, credit card numbers, identity documents, 2FA keys, your Mac password, and SSH keys.
There are also apps available for Android and iOS, as well as browser extensions for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and other browsers. These allow you to easily and automatically fill in usernames and passwords on websites.
To sign in to 1Password, you use a password and a secret key. That key in particular makes your account very secure because it is long and completely random. 1Password also integrates with Touch ID on Mac, Face ID on iPhone or iPad, and Windows Hello on Windows 11.
What's new?
The developers of 1Password have released version 8.11.22. This is a small update in which translations for several languages have been updated. On Windows, you can now link additional browsers through the application’s settings. This allows 1Password to automatically fill in passwords even for browsers that are not officially supported.
On December 11, a hotfix was released for Windows, bringing the version number there to 8.11.23. The app would freeze for thirty seconds on Windows when enabling passkeys. That issue has now been resolved.
